JWI is working with lawmakers to introduce a bill to notify victims when a domestic abuser fails a firearms background check. I am unsure if this qualifies as lobbying, but we also submitted a comment on the NPRM re: relief from firearms disabilities and encouraged constituents and allies to submit comments.; JWI is asking members of Congress support of the Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act to increase deposits into the Crime Victims Fund. The CVF funds formula grants to states to serve crime victims.; JWI is educating staff about the needs of faith communities related to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking in preparation to introduce a bill to fund a national resource center on these crimes in faith communities.
